The Hand

We decided we needed a story about the hand, where everyone was involved, so the children helped me write this one, even Benno who decided we needed to say the hand every time it came up. It took a lot longer to put together than last time and somehow mum ended up as a blonde?! How on earth did that happen?

Now the kids are coming up with lots of stories and art of their own, and giving me lines to practise. We'll see what comes from this. :)

Inspiration is sometimes hard to find, other days it just leaps into bed and covers you in chocolate kisses, at 5:30 am in the morning, along with the jar of nutella it found in the high cupboard.

Benno and the Baa

Earlier this year, I drew up Benno and the Baa, one night at mum and dad's, on some note pad and stapled it together into a book for him. It was well loved and I had to redraw it for him at Gran and Gran's in my sketch book.

I decided it would make a good second story for the blog, so I scanned the pictures in, then used made safe photo paint to trace and colour then in a number of layers and put it together in photo story three (which generated the music for us) with the kids helping with the narration.

I must remember to make the pictures landscape next time.

The "Baa" Poppy is still one of Ben's favourite visits at Nana's.

The Little Spider

The little spider is a story I first told in the mid nineties, making up one day around the table at the childcare I worked at. I still tell it from time to time, and unlike many of my stories it hasn't changed far from the original telling at all.

Recently my niece Laura asked if I still had a recording of it, I didn't but it got me thinking.

She also didn't know I drew, so I quickly sketched out some pictures and then spent the day scanning them in and adding colour using several layers of made safe photo paint. Finally I woke up early before the kids could make to much noise and spent the morning putting this together for her and recording it on photo story 3.

Hope you and Husband Steve enjoy it Laura, this is for you, Merry Christmas.

And merry Christmas to you the Whanau as well.

Hopefully with some holiday time now here I can get out a few more favourites. Ill burn a DVD when I get enough.

Love Uncle.
